Make your own handheld paper fan that is also a book. You can use this by waving it around in the summer as a paper fan, although I don't recommend too much as it will spoil the edges. For those of you who have done the Weaving classes or who know how to weave and/or embroidery, we can also edge our fans thus. Fans are also the embodiment of culture and art in East Asia; they are accessories with a function and they also hold imagery and calligraphy. The poetry and pictures - ie the ‘book’ part - could be tailor-made to an individual. These reflected social status and also served as a portable screen or shade. They can also be used to point at things or for dramatic emphasis. Possibly and in times of great need, they could also be used to hit people on the head (not recommended). Class includes a bespoke handmade leather cover to paint and free postage to anywhere in the world. Sent separately depending on production schedules.
