Continuing studio practice. Please note that this class is not for complete beginners and we will not go through the basics of manuscript painting. (For that, please refer to other classes such as the Elements series.) This is a class for participants with an established studio practice already, ie. they already paint regularly, be that once a week or once a month or indeed once a year, having had breaks in between. You can be rusty, but you’re not a beginner. Once an artist, always an artist. This is a chance to revive and reinvigorate your painting practice alongside a thriving artistic community. Unlike Finishing School, which aims for completion or resolution, Continuing School and the Studio Practice series allows you to flourish in your own time, at your own pace with the artistic support and guidance you need for your own work. You are welcome to work on whichever painting(s) you like, depending on your mood on the day, being urgent or whimsical (also how I work). The conversations and theories discussed in classes represent a diversity of artistic practice. The regularity of the practice ensures progress. The community ensures inspiration. The inspiration ensures your art. It’s a virtuous circle ⭕️
