Cut, sew and make your own talismanic shirt that is tailor-made to fit you! Choose colours and symbols that are meaningful and close to you and that represent healing. I will guide you through the process. My mother has made her own clothing from scratch and perhaps some of you have done the same. The design is actually fairly simple, like a loose-fitting T shirt with slits. This class will involve homework as you’ll have to lie down and get someone to trace your upper body to ensure the shirt fits you and goes round your neck. If you have access to a sewing machine you could also sew it together, or hand-stitch it as they did in the past. (Or get someone to help with this!) We will cover all this process but you will have to make your own shirts after discussing it in class. Then we will design, size and paint it together and you will have your very own bespoke talismanic shirt you can wear (dry clean only!).
