Design your own Toy Theatre Proscenium Design and make your own proscenium and stage. December and the holiday season is a great time to make toy theatres. I collect toy theatres (perhaps understandably) and own I would say most of the current modern ones in publication. I also have a collection of vintage prints we can use for inspiration. You can choose to make your theatre in a classic style, able to adapt to any play, or design your theatre around a specific play of your choice. If you have done all 3 Toy Theatre classes then you will have a working full toy theatre! Alternatively if you just take this class you will have a diorama which you can enjoy and display on a shelf. After playing extensively with your toy theatre it might be an idea to house it in a framed box to hang on the wall, there are framers who can do this. Equally there are people who collect prints of toy theatres and never make them up (me! and friends of mine!) and just fondly take them out of drawers and look at them every now and again: a perfectly legitimate culmination to your toy theatre project as it represents future play potential…
